On-Site Referrals

At each free tax preparation site, there are knowledgeable Financial Resource Coordinators that can explain an array of financial services to assist customers who would like to pursue a more long-term financial management plan. These services include:

• Splitting the refund into two or more accounts so that a portion may be saved
• Certificate of Deposit (CD) products, Savings Accounts, Savings Bonds and Prepaid Mastercards to accommodate savings
• Credit reports with scores and referrals to home ownership/credit counseling agencies

Year-Round Referrals

Financial Education: Customers are referred to free financial education classes at the Delaware "Money School" – free workshops on a broad range of financial topics.

IDAs: Each customer is introduced to the "Delawareans Save Program" – an Individual Development Account (IDA) program where savings are matched providing workers with a 1:1.5 match of $2,250 for investments in home ownership, post secondary education, or small business development.
